Morganstone Sponsor Morriston Monkey 10’s Tournament for Third Year

Morganstone recently returned as sponsor for the third annual Morganstone Monkey 10’s Tournament and family fun day at Morriston RFC. The over 16s tag rugby tournament saw ten teams compete over the day long tournament at one of the regions’ most family friendly rugby clubs, with Shamonka Donk taking home the winners’ cup.

The fun event consisted of:

  • A children’s Morganstone marquee, complete with glitter tattoos, music, arts, crafts and snacks
  • An Ospreys in the Community inflatable
  • Special guest appearances from Ozzie the Ospreys mascot, and Mickey Mouse
  • Food and drink stalls
  • A special visit from the fire service
  • A BBQ and disco in the evening

Morriston RFC have been raising money for Mind Charity, with a raffle from the day and future fundraising totalling £1000 for the mental health charity.

Nia Collard, Community Engagement Manager for Morganstone said,

It was my first Morriston Monkey 10’s event since recently starting with the company. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a terrific day, with a great attendance from the local community of Morriston. The sun was shining, and it was lovely to see so many children running around with their glitter tattoos!”

Morganstone staff turned out in force in support of the event, including ‘local lad’ and Managing Director Ian Morgan, and Business Development Director Stuart Davies, who returned to a familiar venue having played there a number of times during 14 years with Swansea RFC.

Ian Morgan, Managing Director stated,

“We always support the communities in which we work, but it’s also lovely for me personally to get behind an event in the area in which I grew up, and I think a great day was had by all.”

Morriston RFC has a large junior membership, with over 250 children between the ages of seven and sixteen representing the club. In addition to this, the rugby club consists of two senior teams, a youth team and ladies’ side.
