Morganstone - Morganstone Encourages Grass Roots Rugby At Tag Rugby Competition And Fun Day

Morganstone encourages grass roots rugby at tag rugby competition and fun day

The Morganstone Monkey 10s, as the tournament is called, will see 12 teams compete during the day-long event on Saturday, 6 August, at one of the area’s most family orientated rugby clubs.

Morriston RFC has a large junior membership with 264 children aged between seven and 16 representing the club. This is in addition to the club’s two senior teams, youth team and ladies side. Many of the club’s former players have become Welsh Internationals including current Welsh international Ross Moriarty who has represented England and Wales.

Ian Morgan managing director of Morganstone, said:

“Morganstone recognises that Morriston has a long history of producing Welsh internationals and promoting grass roots rugby for many generations. The club has a great family history with grandfathers, fathers, sons and daughters playing for Morriston RFC. As such, we are delighted to sponsor this event to support the club and promote rugby within the community.

“The day is more than just a tournament – it is a fun family day for the community. The aim of the club and Morganstone is to support grass roots rugby, get people playing sport and ultimately to help produce the great rugby players of the future.”

Vince Matthews, Chairman of Morriston RFC, said:

“We are all looking forward to the tournament this weekend and would like to express our thanks to Ian Morgan and Morganstone for supporting the local community. Ian lives locally and has many friends at Morriston RFC so I know the club and developing grass roots rugby are close to his heart.”

The winners cup and prizes will be presented by the Ospreys, who will also be signing autographs on the day.
