Construction has always been the industry for me. It is challenging, exciting and rewarding all at once. You put the work in and recognition and rewards follow, this has been the road map of my 20 year career in the industry. I am extremely proud to be appointed as a Director at Morganstone and am excited at what the future holds for me personally and for Morganstone.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Trudi Bowen to Director. Trudi has worked tirelessly for the company and has shown true dedication, commitment and leadership in everything she does.
Get to know Trudi better:
What is your past experience?
I have worked in the construction industry for around 20 years. I started my career with Thyssen Construction as a PA to a Business Development Manager and was one day asked to look into getting them a Quality System. I haven’t looked back since! I moved on to work in Morrison Construction as part of their bidding team on AMP 4. I spent 11 years with Morrison Construction (who were bought out by GallifordTry) and held a number of exciting positions, one of which was being seconded in to the Dwr Cymru Asset Management team working on the AMP 4 Water Framework building their Asset Management System. I was lucky enough to be working in an industry leading collaborative team that were one of the few to truly embody Egan and Latham’s Partnering model of working. I ended up travelling the country with GallifordTry working with a team of strong leaders setting a JV to deliver AMP5 for Thames Water in Hampton Court, London before being promoted into a national improvement role. After travelling the country for a number of years, I took a role with Dawnus working out of Swansea and soon ended up travellign the country again as the business expanded nationally. Having had enough of the travel, I joined the Morganstone team back in 2017. I have had the privilege to work with some amazing and inspiring people who have helped shape my career.
What does your current role involve?
My role is extremely diverse. I look after all things associated with managing business risk and compliance right across the business. I currently manage a team of 3 and between us we cover Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, CSR and Training. My wider industry and business experience allows me to support other departments in managing the challenges and risks they face. Being promoted to Director now means I am available to support the wider business and Senior Management team in a more formal capacity.
What do you like most about your role?
Making the difference to people and the business! I am fortunate to get the opportunity to develop and improve the way things are done right across the Morganstone business, whether that be for the benefit of individuals, teams or the wider business. Working for Morganstone there are no boundaries to where these improvements take me and I have been able to excel for the benefit of the business and our Clients. I am excited about what the future holds and can’t wait for more exciting projects to improve how we operate for the benefit of our teams and those Clients that work with us.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I was born in a small village called Loughor (Swansea). My career has taken me right across the country which was exciting but also challenging as I left my young family each week on a Tuesday morning and returned on a Friday morning. Morganstone has enabled me to move back to Swansea to be with my family all week whilst doing a role that I love. My family is my passion and this is something that is shared by my extended Morganstone family.
Well done Trudi and thank you for your continued loyalty and support!
