Cefn Hengoed Community Hub

Morgastone is pleased to announce that we have been appointed by Swansea Council to deliver the Cefn Hengoed community hub development at Cefn Hengoed community school. The development of the community hub aims to transform sporting and community facilities for both students and the wider community alike.

The former facilities will receive a new sports barn featuring an indoor 3G pitch and a fitness studio along with a re-purposed outdoor five-a-side pitch. The Hub sporting facilities will also be accompanied by refurbished changing rooms, a café, and associated parking for visitors.

The development will also allow for flexible use between the school, leisure centre and partners. It also provides the opportunity to make other improvements, such as expanding the existing building to create a new layout that will facilitate the extension of the leisure centres’ opening hours.

The Community Hub project is being funded by Swansea Council and the Welsh Government with additional financial support from the Football Foundation with the Swansea City Foundation, Sport Wales, and Freedom Leisure, which manages the leisure centre on behalf of the council.
