Much emphasis has been given to the skills gap that the property and construction industry is currently facing. The sector is currently suffering from an acute shortage of young people taking up a career in the profession. From traditional trades to the more technical skills, it seems the sector is being overlooked when it comes to a career choice, especially by female students.
In order to address and appeal to these students, Morganstone and Westacres have got together with Pennant Homes and Coastal Housing to organise a special careers day for female pupils in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas.
Taking place on Thursday 26 April at the Academy of Sport, Llandarcy, the event is set to attract over 200 female pupils from schools in the area (organised through Careers Wales) introducing them to the opportunities a career in construction and the built environment could offer them.
Tonia Morgan, Director of Morganstone and Westacres said: “It is an exciting time for young women to take up a career in the property and construction industry with the opportunities open to them varied and rewarding. We are really looking forward to meeting all of the students and showcasing what a brilliant industry we work in.”
