It was an eventful day recently for the children at Ysgol Gynradd Saron, Carmarthenshire as staff from Morganstone and new housing developer Westacres, announced the four lucky winners of a poster competition.
More than 40 children entered the competition, which tasked them with designing a safety poster for the new building development in Saron, near the school
After much deliberation among the judges 4 winners were announced and were presented with drawing materials and books as a prize. The posters have now been placed on site to remind people of the dangers of a building development and to encourage children to stay out.
Simon Davies, site manager of Morganstone, said:
“I would like to thank all of the children for their efforts for this competition. The response has been amazing and I’m glad I didn’t have to judge. The presentation has been taken seriously by the children and they are now fully aware of the dangers of a building site.”
Tonia Morgan, director of Westacres, said:
“We had so many fantastic entries it was a really difficult task to narrow down the entries. The winning posters our now displayed on our building site which a short distance from the school so the children will be able to see their hard work and site safety messages every time they go to school.”
