We’re offering site visits and work experience for all local Colleges and Construction students

At the end of 2019, Welsh Government Housing Minister, Julie James announced a £30 million investment into new housing in Wales. The funding came alongside the UK government’s target to building 1.5 million new homes by 2020. In order to achieve this demand, the construction sector are aware that we must invest into the recruitment and training of new talent into our industry.

Morganstone are offering all Colleges local to our developments, the change to visit our live sites with construction students. This gives the learners the opportunity to bring their classroom knowledge to life. Visits will include: Q&A’s with the site team, observation of live activities, an introduction into Morganstone/Westacres and our opportunities and a site tour.

We’re also offering students the opportunity to gain work experience across our sites and head office. Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard added, “It’s important that students gain an insight into our industry, and the opportunities available to them. Many of our historic site visits have resulted in a piqued interest from students who were previously undecided about pursuing their route in construction.”

We have sites from Milford Haven, right through to Barry, with many in between including: Swansea, Briton Ferry, Bridgend, Tonyrefail, Llanharan and Ebbw Vale. As such, we’re lucky in being able to offer lots of Welsh College’s the opportunity to engage with our sites.

If you are a college or student interested in arranging a site visit or work experience, you can contact Nia on: nia.collard@morganstone.co.uk to discuss further.
