We were pleased to donate a generous £300 and a wireless speaker system to Ty Olwen Hospice, to help them with their important work in providing specialist palliative care for people with life shortening illness.
Morganstone raised the funds at a series of fundraising tea, coffee and cake days both at our Llanelli head office, at our sister company Westacres, and on our construction sites throughout the region.
Tonia Morgan, a Morganstone Director and the Sales Director at Westacres, said: “We are delighted to make this donation to Ty Olwen. The hospice does such valuable work to support patients to retain their independence for as long as possible in their own home and also to provide such high quality care within a hospice setting.
“Ty Olwen is such an important part of the local community here in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot and it is pleasing to note that 95p out of every pound donated to Ty Olwen goes directly into patient care.
“Morganstone and Westacres have supported a host of charities over the past year by holding raffles, Christmas jumper days, cricket matches and now fundraising teas, taking our fundraising total for 2016/2017 to £40,000.”
Delyth Gough is a long-standing Ty Olwen trustee, based at the hospice in Morriston Hospital.
She said: “We are very grateful for this donation from Morganstone. We are fortunate to have strong ongoing NHS funding but donations like this one are vital in helping us provide specialist equipment that helps to enhance the daily the lives of our Ty Olwen family.
“At the moment we are keen to invest in a number of specialised reclining chairs and steadies which will help our patients maintain their mobility and give them comfort and independence, so we expect this donation to go towards these purchases.”
