Second Annual ‘Morganstone Monkey 10’s’ rugby tag tournament kicks off at Morriston RFC!
Llanelli-based construction company Morganstone will do its bit to encourage grass roots rugby in August by sponsoring a tag rugby competition and family fun day at Morriston RFC. The second annual ‘Morganstone Monkey 10s’ will see 12 teams of over 18’s compete during the day-long event on Saturday, 5 August, at one of the area’s most family orientated rugby clubs.
Morriston RFC has a large junior membership with 264 children aged between seven and 16 representing the club. This is in addition to the club’s two senior teams, youth team and ladies side. Many of the club’s former players have become Welsh Internationals including current Welsh international Ross Moriarty who has represented England and Wales and the British Lions.
Ian Morgan managing director of Morganstone, said:
“Morganstone recognises that Morriston has a long history of producing Welsh internationals and promoting grass roots rugby for many generations. The club has a great family history with grandfathers, fathers, sons and daughters playing for Morriston RFC. As such, we are delighted to sponsor this event again to support the club and promote rugby within the community.
“The day is more than just a tournament – it is a fun family day for the community. The aim of the club and Morganstone is to support grass roots rugby, get people playing sport and ultimately to help produce the great rugby players of the future.”

“We are all looking forward to the tournament this weekend and would like to express our thanks to Ian Morgan and Morganstone for supporting the local community. Ian lives locally and has many friends at Morriston RFC so I know the club and developing grass roots rugby are close to his heart.”
The winner’s cup and prizes will be presented by the Ospreys, who will also be signing autographs on the day.
