Morganstone - Ospreys Father Christmas MSL Spread Cheer

Ospreys, Father Christmas and Morganstone spread cheer on Children’s Wards

Morganstone staff were joined by Justin Tipuric, Dan Lydiate, Dan Biggar and members of the Ospreys ruby team as they took time out from training this week, to spread a little Christmas cheer with a visit to the children’s ward of Morriston hospital.

The surprise visit put a smile on the faces of youngsters some of whom will be spending the festive season on the ward. 15 players attended in total, spending time with the children, handing out Ospreys goodies, signed posters and taking selfies with the brave young supporters.

As sponsors of the Ospreys, Morganstone combined their annual visit with that of the Rugby Club and the visit is one which is looked forward to by both organisations.

Ospreys captain Alun Wyn Jones attended the visit. He said: “Christmas is a time for tradition and it has become an Ospreys tradition to visit the children’s wards in the weeks leading up to Christmas; one the players have come to know and love.

“A big thank you must also go to the staff at the hospital who gave us a very warm welcome today.  The team here at Morriston has been very welcoming and they do an amazing job 365 days a year.  We really hope that we’ve managed to cheer the children up a bit and with any luck they will make a speedy recovery and be home in time for Christmas Day.”

Ian Morgan, Managing Director of Morganstone comments: “As sponsors we’ve worked closely with the Ospreys for a number of years. Our support for local communities is at the heart of the company’s ethos, all year round, and we especially look forward to our Christmas hospital visits with the team.

“It is a particular pleasure to see the delight the visit of Father Christmas – and the Ospreys – brings to the children and to have the opportunity to thank the hospital staff for their continual care and dedication.
