NPTC plastering students visit Parc Y Dderwen 6

A group of Level 2 Plastering students from Neath Port Talbot College recently visited our Parc Y Dderwen, phase 6 development in Pontardawe. The visit formed part of Morganstone’s wider Community Engagement and liaison with educational establishments local to our developments.

Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard said, “It’s really important to us that we provide real life on site visits and work experience for students studying construction. This enables the classroom to be brought to life, and for the students to experience a live building site, before starting their career in construction.”

Parc Y Dderwen is currently in its sixth phase, five of which have been built by Morganstone. The development will consist of 8 houses, for client Coastal Housing. The students were introduced to Project Manager, Christopher Weaver – who provided an overview of the development and trades on site. Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard, then provided a presentation on Morganstone’s current projects and around opportunities for work experience placements. The visit ended with a tour around the development, where the students were able to observe workmen undertaking activities.
