Students from the construction department of Bridgend College visited our Mill Street development recently to see what it was like to work on a Morganstone site.
The carpentry students began their day with a presentation in the site office from our Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard, which showed the students what a career in construction could look like. They were also presented with the possible opportunities they could have at Morganstone.
The presentation was followed by a Q&A where the students were allowed to quiz the site manager and assistant site manager about life in construction and their day to day duties.
After this, it was then off outside for a tour of the site where the students were taken around the superstructures in progress and were shown how their carpentry skills could be applied through the timber framing of the properties.
The students were also given a live carpentry demonstration where they once again were able to see how they could directly apply their skills on a Morganstone building site.
Our Mill Street scheme will consist of 34 residential units, comprising of 6 x one-bedroom apartments (two to be assisted living); 13 x two-bedroom apartments (four to be assisted living); 7 x two-bedroom houses (six to be open market) and 8 x three bedroom (Three to be open market). 34 off-street parking spaces and 8 garage/undercroft parking spaces. The development will continue our strong working relationship with the Pobl Group.
