The exceptional quality and high standards delivered by local construction company Morganstone have been recognised at a construction industry awards covering the area of Neath Port Talbot.
The company won a Building Excellence Award in the category of Best High Volume House Builder at the ceremony hosted by Neath Port Talbot’s Building Control section, held at the Towers Hotel on Friday January 30. The award specifically related to its work at Parc y Dderwen, a scheme by Pennant Homes (part of the Coastal Housing Group), situated on the site of the former Cwmtawe College, which will comprise 78 homes when completed.
The Neath Port Talbot awards recognise and reward the most dedicated individuals and construction companies operating throughout the county borough. As a winner of the Neath Port Talbot Awards, Morganstone will also be put forward to the South Wales LABC Awards, which will take place on April 17.
In addition to winning one award, Morganstone was also named as Highly Commended in two other categories: Best Social/Affordable Housing and Best Site Supervisor, a recognition achieved by Morganstone’s Chris Weaver. Both achievements also related to work completed at Parc y Dderwen.
Located in the heart of Pontardawe, Parc y Dderwen is a £1.7 million scheme that comprises a mixture of 2-bedroom bungalows and 3-bedroom townhouses currently for sale with the Help to Buy Wales scheme available on all plots. Prices at the development start from £129,995.
The picturesque development sits in a rural setting, which has been retained by establishing several mature oak trees on the site; this has given the development its name which translates as Oak Park.
Ian Morgan, Managing Director of Morganstone, said:
“We were delighted to receive recognition at these awards. The company’s core ethos revolves around quality and establishing excellence in everything we do. For that to be recognised in this way is always rewarding for the site team and the company.”
Sandra Marsh, Sales Manager at Pennant Homes, said: “We’re really pleased that Morganstone have received this award, they thoroughly deserve the recognition for their continual high standards. They have been working incredibly hard at Parc y Dderwen and their hard work is reflected in the excellent quality of our homes for sale at the development. We have been able to strengthen our already good working relationship with Morganstone and we look forward to continuing to work with them at Parc y Dderwen.”
Paul Davis, Building Control Manager at Neath Port Talbot, added: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Morganstone on developments. They set an example for others to follow. Their work is always of the highest of standards and on the very rare occasions that problems arise they are rectified without delay and with the minimum of fuss. I wish Morganstone the very best of luck as they progress through the awards to the LABC regional finals.”
