Morganstone supports World Suicide Prevention Week

It’s time to talk!

World Suicide Prevention Week allows us the opportunity to come together, to help remove the stigma around mental health issues, where 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience mental health issues. This is quite prevalent within the construction industry, where a high percentage of the workforce are young males. This is the group most affected by mental health issues and suicidal thoughts according to Samaritans latest statistics.

We are proud partners of the Jac Lewis Foundation, a local charity setup out of the tragic loss of Jac Lewis to suicide. A young man who was at the heart of the community, with a passion for the town and football club of Ammanford. Jac was a kind, caring individual who inspired comments that give you a true feel for his character, “Jac’s most special attribute was his warmth. He had a big heart and a big smile. He lit up the room and was always life and soul of any party.” and “He became the heartbeat and pulse of our club, stamping his personality on everyone, no matter how old or what gender Jac would engage with everybody, and always with a kiss and hug.” The foundation was setup 5 years ago this month, and during this time has assisted thousands of individuals through out Ammanford and the wider community, through providing a preventative wellbeing and mental health service, managed by professionally qualified counsellors and wellbeing advisors.

At Morganstone Limited, we believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace where everyone feel connected. This creates an environment where colleagues can speak freely and gain reassurance, useful resources or simply the feeling of being heard. With our partnership of the Jac Lewis Foundation, our Health Assured, our comprehensive employee assistance programme, and our supportive workplace, we are ensuring that those in the Morganstone family know we are here to listen.
