Students from Glyncoed Primary recently attended Linc Cymru’s Llys Glyncoed Care Home in Ebbw Vale to sing for the residents, give out daffodils and shared some Welsh cakes.
The event was organised by Morganstone with help from Linc Cymru, Blaenau Gwent Council, Blaenau Gwent Intergenerational Connections, teachers from the school and workers from the care home.
The performance by the children was well received by the residents of the care home who thoroughly enjoyed the day, including Joan Morgan: ‘It was lovely, I am 96 and I do appreciate the fact that you came today’.
‘We have all thoroughly enjoyed it, we had a gentleman in this morning that never goes to any activities and he made sure he was here this morning to hear the singing.’
The event was part of a wider Morganstone strategy to encourage various types of integration within the communities that we are operating in.
Llys Glyncoed Care Home is positioned adjacently to Morganstone’s College Road site which will be an independent living complex.
The development will compliment Linc’s existing care home and will consist of 27 one bed apartments and six one bed bungalows with a communal garden and parking.
