Morganstone focuses on closing the construction skills gap

Llanelli based construction company Morganstone, which works across South Wales, continued its partnership with Neath Port Talbot College, and attended a construction employer’s event run by the college on Thursday May 21.

Staff from Morganstone fielded questions from students keen to get advice on careers in construction.  In particular Morganstone focussed on encouraging students into the wide and varied roles within the construction industry and discussed the various routes that students could take to work within the industry.

The event, designed for construction students to seek out career opportunities, revealed what the apprenticeships and trainee posts are available within the industry and at Morganstone. Staff from Morganstone were on hand to chat to the students, answer their questions, and give them career advice.

Peter Rees, Groundworks Manager for Morganstone, said:

“The event was a great opportunity for the students to ask us any pressing questions they have about the construction industry.

“It was also a fantastic way for us to showcase the great work that Morganstone does in the community and inform students about the wide range of roles within the industry and at Morganstone.”

Ian Morgan, Managing Director of Morganstone, said:

“Many thanks to Neath Port Talbot College for holding this event and for inviting us along. We spoke to some very promising students and we look forward to seeing them again.

“Morganstone recognise there is a range of skills shortages within the industry and the attendance at this event forms part of our commitment to investing in the future of our company and the wider construction industry”
