The Ospreys’ trip to the Morganstone Brewery Field was accompanied by a staff outing to witness this historic fixture, and it proved to be a fruitful evening as Dan Evans scored a try with the last play to end hopes of a Connacht comeback.
The game wasn’t just an important night for the Ospreys however, as Morganstone are a proud sponsor of both the region and the Morganstone Brewery Field Stadium.
As a result, Morganstone employees were treated to a table in the President’s Lounge where they were able to enjoy the win in style. Morganstone’s contribution to how well the ground and its hospitality boxes were presented was recognised in a welcoming address by Wayne Hall, Head of Sales at the Ospreys.
There was also a special mention for a certain Welsh legend in attendance in the form of William Thomas, also known as Bryn Cartwright from Twin Town.
An excellent two course meal followed and the bar was flowing all night as the evening continued to be a hugely enjoyable experience for all parties involved.
Morganstone’s contribution to the night wasn’t finished there however, as Ian Morgan, Managing Director, had the honour of presenting the Guinness Man of the Match trophy to Olly Cracknell, who had played superbly.
Morganstone’s Business Development Director, Stuart Davies, returned to a venue where he had played many times for Swansea RFC and he added,
“The staging of this fixture at the Morganstone Brewery Field was a great success. The Ospreys and Bridgend RFC staff did an excellent job of hosting it and a good night was had by all. We look forward to seeing another game staged here before too long.”
