Morganstone attend SkillsCymru event at Parc Y Scarlets

On the 22nd and 23rd of February Morganstone attended SkillsCymru Carmarthenshire 2019 to inform and encourage students to take up a career in construction.

The careers event was put together by Careers Wales, Coleg Sir Gâr, the Welsh Government, Carmarthenshire County Council and Castell Howell and was attended by some of West Wales’ biggest employers, colleges and training providers.

Pupils from schools across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire were present at the event where they were able to take part in various ‘Have a Go’ activities ranging from creative arts to the built environment.

The event was also open to parents during the afternoon of the first day so that they were able to enquire about career opportunities for their children.

Morganstone exhibited at the event as part of a conscious effort to encourage more young people to pursue a career in the construction industry.

According to a recent CITB study, approximately 168,500 construction jobs are to be created in the UK over the next five years with construction employment expected to reach 2.79 million in 2023, just 2% lower than its peak in 2008.
