Morganstone are happy to support Ty Olwen Hospice

Morganstone are pleased to have recently returned to Morriston Hospital, to present a £500 cheque donation to Ty Olwen Hospice. The donation will help assist the hospice with their important work, providing specialist palliative care for people with life shortening illnesses.

The palliative care centre was established in 1981, and has undergone a major refurbishment in 2005, funded by The National Lottery. The wonderful Ty Olwen team provide care, support and education for patients and their families.

Tonia Morgan, a Morganstone Director and Sales Director at Westacres, said, “We are delighted to make this donation to Ty Olwen. The hospice is such a vital part of the local community here in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, and it’s pleasing to see that 95p from every pound donated to Ty Olwen is spent directly on patient care”.

Morganstone raised the funds for the Hospice over the past year, through a selection of fundraising tea, coffee and cake days at our Llanelli head office, at our sister company Westacres, and Christmas Jumper days on our construction sites throughout the region.

Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard, said, “It is great that Morganstone and Westacres are able to support such an important charity. The hospice provides such valuable work in supporting patients to retain their independence for quality care within a hospice setting.”

The hospice have recently been donated reclining chairs for its’ patients, assisting them in maintaining their mobility and providing them with comfort and independence. Ty Olwen relies heavily on funding and needs to raise £450,000 annually to support their important work.
