Pembrokeshire College are currently displaying the eye-catching artwork of local school children around the new Advanced Learning Centre site, Campus 6.
Morganstone, one of the fastest-growing construction companies in Wales, is building the new state of the art facility with Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary being a close neighbour in Merlin’s Terrace. As part of Morganstone’s education programme, Year 4 pupils were asked to get creative to relay some important site safety messages.
Morganstone’s Community Engagement Manager, Antonia John gave an informal presentation on construction jobs before announcing the names of the four winners whose work has been enlarged and displayed around the Pembrokeshire College site.
Congratulations to Emily Gosling, Libby Roberts, Adrian Schnoder and Owen Woof who got the chance to see their work in an extra large format and were also awarded with a goodie bag. Year 4 Mary Immaculate CP Teacher, Mr Oulton said, “The children enjoyed taking part in this project and learnt some important messages as a result.”
Following an informal presentation regarding careers in construction and the built and environment to the school, Antonia tasked the Year 4 pupils to build a tetrahedron – a pyramid made up of four equal triangles, with the added challenge of using natural materials. Antonia said, “The children rose to the challenge and created an impressive structure – I think we have some future Site Managers and Architects in the making!”
