Morganstone Resident Choice For Street Names

Local residents choice for street names

Morganstone and Linc Cymru enlisted the help of the local community to name the new roads around the Extra Care scheme in Maesteg which is currently under construction.

Mr Barry Waters, won the naming of the building with his suggestion of “TÅ· Llwynderw”. He named it after the local school he had attended. “I am over the moon to have won this. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Llwynderw school and it is great to have the name live on. It is lovely that they have included the community in such an important decision and that the name will stay. I am looking forward to telling my grandson, grandad named that,” adds Mr Waters.

Mrs Helen Cody was also a winner naming another street “Cae’r Ysgol”. Both winners were presented with Love2Shop vouchers.

Ian Morgan, Managing Director, Morganstone said:

As a company our work with the local communities around each of our developments is of prime importance. It is very fitting therefore that the community close to the Maesteg Extra Care Scheme have been involved in and chosen the names for the roads around the area.

We are delighted that the community has had the opportunity to place it’s own mark on the local history of the area and hope that the names and the stories behind them will give much pleasure to future generations.
