For Children in Need, one construction company based in Llanelli has gone the extra mile to raise money for the leading children’s charity.
Morganstone, a leading South Wales construction company got all of its staff involved to help raise money for this year’s event that was held on Friday November 13.
Its offices in Cardiff and Llanelli and construction sites across South and West Wales hosted a Children in Need Elevenses and Afternoon Tea for all of the staff. Once cakes had been sold in the Llanelli office, volunteers then went around the neighbouring companies to offer them the chance to buy cakes as well.
Staff at the Cardiff and Llanelli offices were also allowed to dress down for the day by donating £5.00 to the charity, however if staff wanted to wear their usual office clothes then they had to pay a fine £10.00. All proceeds from the day’s events went to the charity.
Antonia John, community engagement manager for Morganstone, said:
“It really is great that we as a company did everything we could think of to get involved with Children in Need this year. It is a brilliant charity that really makes a difference. We encouraged people to bring in homemade cakes for us to sell off; staff rose to the challenge and we had an excellent array of cakes which we sold to staff and neighbouring companies. Between our offices and sites across South and West Wales we are delighted to have raised £426.00 and plans are afoot for next years Children in Need and possibly a mini bake-off!”
