Highly Commended at WHA Awards 2017

Morganstone was recently short listed for Community Focused Contractor at the renowned Welsh Housing Awards.

The finals were held at the Vale Resort in the Vale of Glamorgan, where Antonia John, Community Engagement Manager a Morganstone received the prize of Highly Commended for the companies ‘Back into the Community Campaign’.

Training, employment and the supply chain opportunities within Wales are important to Morganstone and provide employment and economic advantages for the local community. The Company works continuously with local housing associations and employment organisations offering work experience and employment opportunities to the unemployed. Their apprenticeship numbers are increasing and the sub-contractors and supply chains are actively sourced from the communities in which they work allowing the Company to invest 100% back into Welsh SME’s.

Antonia John, Community Engagement Manager said:

“Over the past year, Morganstone has developed its World of Work education programme, Woman in Construction events, Careers Fairs and Team and Confidence building events.

We also organise site tours and presentations for primary and secondary schools and have recently launched our Careers in Construction campaign with the development of a careers brochure and advertising hoardings across our sites. The campaign is aimed at attracting more people into the construction sector, promoting our opportunities within the industry particularly for women across Wales”.
