Client: Rhondda Housing Association
Completed in 2014, this exciting design and build development was built on the site of the former Trealaw School. The project, which was run in partnership with Rhondda Housing Association, saw the old school building removed to make way for 18 three-storey apartments and townhouses. The project catered to the varied needs of disabled individuals in Wales with the addition of an adapted bungalow.
This housing association development faced various challenges, which thanks to our dedicated management and site teams were overcome. The level difference across the site was countered by our skilled design team, who used this challenge to realise additional development potential. The townhouses and apartments were constructed with a semi-basement lower floor and a cast in-situ transition slab at the first floor.
In addition to this other challenges, including services, culverts and drainage, were overcome thanks to our assistance throughout the design and pre-planning stages.
