Creation Development Trust was looking to strip out, refurbish and alter an existing three-storey property on Katie Street in Blaengarw, Port Talbot. The project involved the installation of a lift and the construction of a two-storey extension to the rear of the property to transform the use of this building from residential property to food retail outlet and office.

Despite the small scale of the development, the Katie Street project came with its challenges as our customer was working to a tight 12-week deadline to accommodate the area’s new food outlet, The Real Food Shop. The project was made even more challenging by the fact that European Funding had to be secured before work commenced. Thanks to the expertise of our management team, we developed an intensive programme and flexible working to ensure the needs of both parties were catered for.

Following the successful completion of the Katie Street development, the project was awarded a Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) score of 35.
