The Coed-y-Lan development is on the site of the former Coed-y-Lan Lower Comprehensive School on Lanpark Road. Demolition of the former school took place in summer 2016 and the site was completed in the last quarter of 2017 creating much needed affordable new homes.
Morganstone was contracted to build 18 apartments where the gymnasium building was situated. This included six ground floor units that incorporated adaptions for those with special access requirements. The apartments are built to Welsh Government development quality requirements.
During the course of the construction Morganstone linked in with local schools running site safety poster competitions, building bug hotels and holding World of Work events to encourage local youngsters to appreciate their environment and consider careers in the industry.
The Coed-y-Lan development continued our long standing relationship with Rhondda Housing Association being the fourth partnership site.
