Ivor Goodsite visits Hendreforgan Primary School

Despite being a windy, rainy day in Tonyrefail, there were smiling faces all around as Hendreforgan Primary School pupils were recently treated to a visit from special guest, Ivor Goodsite. Considerate Constructor mascot, Ivor joined Parc Eirin Project Manager, Michael Flew and Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard to educate the pupils about building site safety.

Ivor’s visit formed part of an initiative to educate local pupils around the dangers associated with construction sites. The children were introduced to PPE clothing, and took part in a brainstorming session around the hazards on site. Two willing volunteers from the audience then took part in a PPE dress up game (with a little help from their excited peers). The pupils had lots of questions to ask about Ivor’s PPE and about how to lay bricks, and whether Ivor had to go to college to become an Assistant Site Manager at the nearby Parc Eirin site.

Community Engagement Manager, Nia Collard added, “It’s always such a pleasure to see the joy on the children’s faces when they meet Ivor Goodsite. As Parc Eirin is such a large development, it’s really important to pique the interest of local pupils who might have an interest in construction, or have some questions about the project”.

Parc Eirin is being constructed on behalf of clients POBL Living and Tirion Homes, and energy partner, Sero Energy. The development will consist of 225 low carbon homes and is the largest development of its kind in the UK.
