Morganstone wins big at Fast Track 50 Awards

It has been a very successful past two years for Llanelli-based construction company Morganstone, which has culminated in the company being recognised for its achievements and receiving numerous accolades.

The most recent icing on the cake for the business was winning the prestigious award for the Fastest Growing mid- to large-sized firm at the Wales Fast Growth 50 Awards held at the Mercure Holland House in Cardiff on Friday November 6.

The company was also the second fastest growing company in Wales in any sector over the past two years. These achievements follow the company’s success last year when it won the prize for the fastest growing construction company in Wales.

This year’s award was given based on the company attaining a remarkable growth rate of 571 percent in the past 24 months, a feat achieved on the back of rapid expansion which has included the company winning many notable contracts and, most recently, opening an office in Cardiff.

Ian Morgan, managing director of Morganstone, was keen to stress that the company’s many successes in the past two years could not have been achieved without the dedication of its staff.

“Last year we won the fastest growing construction company in Wales and now that we are a much larger business we really did not expect to get anything from the awards,” he said. “It is much easier to achieve a high growth rate from a smaller base than when you are a bigger company, as we are now.

“To win this award and to also be the second fastest growing company in the whole of Wales in all sectors is a fantastic achievement, therefore, and one of which I am immensely proud.

“But the real recognition should go to our staff and all the hard work they put in. I firmly believe that we have the best in the business and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stayed committed and loyal to us over the years.

“Each and every one of them should take some credit for the dynamic growth that we have achieved over the years. We are clearly one of the most successful stories of growth in the construction industry over the past seven years and it is something that we all should feel very proud of.”

Morgan says he attributes much of the company’s rapid growth and success to its commitment to investing in its workforce. He regards its workforce as its biggest and most valuable asset and its strong commitment to recruiting local talent, training and investing in experienced construction experts ensures that customers benefit from a multi-disciplined, high quality and cost-effective service.

He also paid tribute to the support of the company’s suppliers and the loyalty of its clients during its remarkable growth trajectory in recent years.

“We have also been very lucky to work with some exceptional suppliers that have been willing to stick by us on this journey,” he said. “Many of them understood we were on a journey and have been very loyal to us.

“But none of this could have been achieved without our clients many of whom have also bought into our vision for offering a local Wales-based product with a local ethos but with the high-standards and professionalism you would expect from a national company.”

Morganstone was established in 2008 by Ian Morgan. He formed the company with the vision of offering the disciplines of a National PLC alongside a flexible and hands-on approach – qualities associated with smaller construction firms.

From its headquarters in Llanelli, Morganstone now delivers high-quality developments for public sector organisations, private developers and residential landlords across Wales and the South West of England.

It recently established an office on the outskirts of Cardiff to meet the demand of its East Wales and South West England clients.
